Requirements, availability and accepted versions are set by the provider and receiving institution. Confirm the latest information directly before booking.
A German-taught programme may specify both language evidence and a separate academic requirement. Put TestDaF in the language row and copy the programme’s exact result conditions. Do not use a TestAS result as a replacement for German proficiency. If several institutions are involved, check each policy separately and plan how the official result reaches them. A shared language of instruction does not create identical admission rules.
Work with the official TestDaF examples for the selected format. Record which academic language task needs development and why: understanding source material, organising a response or producing language under time constraints. Match the practice to that weakness. Before the examination, confirm the chosen format and identification requirements rather than assuming they match another German certificate.

Language proficiency and academic aptitude answer different questions in German admissions. Understand the role of TestDaF and TestAS before comparing them.
Explore this pathwayCheck the identity policy for this exact exam and testing country. Your account details should follow the provider’s instructions for the document you will present. If names differ across Latin and Cyrillic documents, resolve the spelling question through official support before booking. Keep passwords and one-time codes private; guidance should help you understand the form while you retain control of sensitive details.
Read the guideThe receiving institution determines which product and format it accepts. The provider determines current locations, appointment availability and delivery requirements. Confirm both before choosing a centre or online option. Check the local time, equipment and any access-arrangement process relevant to your booking. A location listed online does not guarantee a place on your preferred date.
Read the guideStart with the official candidate materials for the exact version you intend to take. Familiarise yourself with the published format and interface, then choose learning support separately if needed. Registration assistance is not tuition, a predicted score or access to live questions. Use legitimate resources and follow the provider’s exam-conduct rules.
Read the guideUse the provider’s official account and reporting guidance to access your result. Check separately how the receiving institution wants to receive it. Downloading a report is not always the same as completing submission. If you are considering a further attempt or a professional certification step, confirm current rules directly. An exam result does not itself guarantee admission or a credential.
